Aberdeen University Students Association is the committee led voice of the students at University of Aberdeen. There are a variety of ways to become involved with the union and these include joining or starting a society, becoming involved in sports and student groups, or by campaigning.
AUSA connects you to volunteering activities in Aberdeen, training activities, and raising and giving activities. AUSA also supports your employability with many activities to enhance your CV. You can keep up to date with events with the AUSA app. The Union also helps further with external accommodation providers, budgeting, support and advice, and there is even a nightline service if you need someone to talk to. The range of student activities on offer give you plenty of opportunities to make friends and widen your interests whilst studying.
Aberdeen University Students Association hold elections to ensure that you can have an active voice on their committee and they organise a wide range of events to enable you to have fun, learn something new and mix with students from all over the world.

There are over 58 clubs to choose from at University of Aberdeen with over 127 societies covering a vast range of interests. Students can enjoy interests which cover anything from business and enterprise to performing arts. Across Aberdeen and Scotland students can widen interests within creative arts, politics, activist societies, environmental protection and more.
Students can find something relevant to their studies or enjoy societies that travel the length and breadth of Scotland such as sports and recreation clubs to enjoy the great Scottish scenery. You can enjoy events in your accommodation, at various centres around campus, within your area of study, or across the wider university and city. You can also contribute to the student radio station and a free weekly newspaper, The Gaudie.
The city has a multinational appeal due to international energy industry connections and this enables you to enjoy plenty of expat groups, volunteering experiences, faith and cultural groups, and the great outdoors. Activities range from yacht clubs, mountaineering and walking, white water rafting in Royal Deeside and skiing in season at the nearby Cairngorms National Park.

Aberdeen is a relatively small, but very diverse city which is known worldwide for the oil and gas industry. The city has had an interesting history of friendly invasion by traders from the low countries and the stunning range of architecture which reflects the different periods of trade in the city. Visitors can enjoy cobbled old-world streets, European grand architecture in silver granite, boutique shops and cafes and five modern shopping centres with a wide range of known UK shops, international brands and cafes to suit all tastes.
There is a wide variety of entertainment to suit all tastes with a theatre, arts centre, music hall, museums, an art gallery, and many cafes and restaurants across all tastes and cultures. You can choose from clubs, wine bars, jazz clubs, comedy clubs, cafes and much more besides in a city where there is a vibrant nightlife.
The city enjoys a beach and harbour, with ferries to Orkney and Shetland, plus parks and cycle routes to Deeside and the Cairngorm Mountains. There are regular trains South to Edinburgh and Glasgow, plus York and London, and trains West to Inverness, Wick, Thurso and Kyle of Lochalsh. Buses serve the city, campus, airport and UK cities.
The airport is around five miles from the city centre with direct flights to UK cities, Amsterdam, Spain, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Poland, Switzerland, Finland, Malta, France, and Latvia plus indirect flights via hubs to world destinations.
