Programmes are closely aligned to meet the needs of business and innovation globally, including emergent economic and societal needs. Programmes are reviewed by advisory leaders in industry and informed by worldwide research projects which are designed to understand and meet the innovation gaps and new demands from markets globally. City links to the oil and gas industry support the latest thinking across engineering, environment, law, international development and business internationally, with further strong historical links to arts and social science industries.
Many alumni become mentors internationally and there are several networks across the world to join. Aberdeen enjoys one of the largest medical campuses in Europe and the medical sciences are closely connected to NHS Grampian services at Foresterhill. There are further links to multinational pharmaceutical industries, and high growth innovation players in customised medicines, biotechnology, drug development, nutrition and surgical design techniques.
The university’s careers service offer all students advice and guidance as well as career mentoring. You can enjoy volunteering in the city to gain valuable employment skills and find out about vacation work, studying abroad and part time work. All opportunities are advertised via the careers service and AUSA. You can gain work experience and learn about enterprise development if you want to start a business.
