University College Birmingham’s Centre for Academic Skills and English helps students excel in their course, with personalised support on writing essays, taking exams and completing presentations. There is also dedicated academic support for those with disabilities.
Hired@UCB is dedicated to helping students get on the right career path by finding placements and offering support with writing CVs and undertaking interviews, while the Enterprise Hive team provide information and mentoring to help students start their own business.
The University’s Mental Health and Wellbeing team support students who are struggling with emotional or psychological issues, including providing confidential counselling, and there are plenty of free resources for students to access. In addition, the university’s Nursing Service provides advice and support on general physical health issues.
There is also dedicated financial support for all students, with advisors who can guide students on sourcing extra funding.
