Accommodation & facilities

University Centre Reaseheath offers a range of accommodation options for up to 1,000 students on its campus. There are both catered and self-catered options to choose from.

The halls of residence offer single en-suite bedrooms with a work station, WiFi and 24-hour security, including a Safeguarding Officer and CCTV.

The latest halls of residence contain 200 purpose-built bedrooms in modern, town house style blocks, each containing a communal ground floor with shared kitchen, lounge and dining area. Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the upper floors.

Catered accommodation includes breakfast, lunch and evening meals, which are served daily in the restaurant. Self-catered accommodation has a self-catering kitchen area designated to a number of students. Other dining outlets include the Feast Café and the HE Café where students can purchase meals, snacks and drinks.

After applying, staff will contact students to explain how to secure their place in one of the halls of residence. All full-time higher education students can apply for residential accommodation, and all first-year students are guaranteed a place in halls. This offer is made to all applicants who live more than a reasonable daily travelling distance from Reaseheath and who apply during the normal admissions cycle.

For students who require specialist facilities, there are a limited number of residential places available. Rooms are allocated on assessment of disability but no provision is available in halls for students who need specialist medical or nursing care. Based in rural Cheshire and surrounded by 330 hectares of countryside, while still being close to the big cities of Manchester, Liverpool and Chester, the campus offers a range of state-of-the-art facilities to boost learner experience.

Over the last few years, University Centre Reaseheath has invested over £80 million across its campus on new builds, modern technology, facilities and student accommodation.

Facilities include:

  • Higher Education Centre which has had a recent extension, with open-access IT suites, classrooms, a dual screen lecture theatre, tutorial rooms and a quiet study area. The students’ social area, which currently offers space to relax and a café, is being refurbished to give HE students a great space to socialise, day and night.
  • Animal Management Training Centre including award-winning teaching zoo, home to over 1,000 animals.
  • Dedicated dog training area, commercial standard grooming parlours and kennelling facilities.
  • Reaseheath Equestrian Centre which has scientific research laboratories and equipment, an international standard indoor arena and two outdoor arenas with competition surfaces.
  • New Agri-Technology Centre, which is one of the most sophisticated in the UK.
  • 272-hectare farm which offers a range of industry-standard facilities, including plans for a new robotic milking system.
  • £8 million National Centre for Horticulture, the Environment and Sustainable Technology, which houses facilities which are used for trials within the crop production industry.
  • Reaseheath Food Centre which is home to one of the best food processing halls in Europe.
  • £6 million Sports Science and Performance Academy with elite performance testing lab and international standard 3G rugby pitch.
  • State-of-the-art laboratories
  • High quality residential student accommodation for up to 1,000 students, including a new £13 million 200 bed townhouse style halls of residence.
