The UCFB Students’ Union represents UCFB and GIS students across all campuses and online. The SU stands up for student rights and fosters an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and included.
They organise regular events both on and off campus, from day trips to boat parties and exclusive club nights.
There are many societies to join at both UK campus locations, including a dedicated group just for postgraduate students:
Students won’t be short of things to do in the UK’s buzzing capital. Not far from the Wembley campus is Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, the largest shopping centre in Europe.
For something more cultural, they can visit the British Museum in Bloomsbury. Or enjoy a walk along the Thames and stop off to admire some art at the Tate Modern. They can finish off by catching a play at Shakespeare’s Globe.
Trains depart from London to all major UK destinations. But for some quick relief, students can head to the seaside at Brighton, which is less than an hour away.
Students can enjoy a central location when they study with GIS in Manchester. They’ll be in easy reach of all the city has to offer.
They can visit the Arndale Centre to explore over 200 different shops, from high street to high end. Or, they can head over to Afflecks Palace to browse alternative fashions from steam punk to cyber goth.
Just outside of the city centre is the massive Heaton Park. Here they can relax with a picnic, play sports or catch a gig. Some huge acts have played there, including Oasis, the Arctic Monkeys and the Courteeners.
Manchester is also well-connected by rail, with Leeds and Sheffield both under an hour away. London can be reached in around 2 hours.
