UCEN Manchester has a lively and active Students’ Union (SU), that acts as the representational voice of the many students who study there. The SU at UCEN Manchester organises a yearly timetable of events and activities to enrich the lives of its student members.
The SU is run by students, for students, and is there to provide opportunities for personal development, meet new people, get involved with campaigns and events, and to be part of the wider student community. The SU is active at all campuses and has an online platform where student experiences and ideas can be shared. From Summer 2022, the SU will have its own facilities at City Campus Manchester, including spaces for clubs and societies, and a dedicated SU bar.
Each student has a say in the running of UCEN Manchester and can make their thoughts known by taking part in student surveys and establishing a dialogue with the elected student council members.

Manchester is considered to be one of the most vibrant and dynamic student cities in Europe.
With a diverse and multicultural landscape of music, art, food, sport, and culture, an adventurous student can always find something to do in their spare time. Rich in culture, the city has plenty of museums and galleries to explore, such as the Whitworth Art Gallery, which curates a collection of world-famous paintings from the likes of Picasso and Van Gogh.
Manchester is well known for its nightlife, with a lively pub and bar scene to match any city in the UK. Whether wandering along Canal Street in the summer, or scouring the city for comedy clubs, attending a theatre performance or seeking out live music, there will always be a buzz to be discovered.
There are excellent transport links throughout the city and surrounding regions to make it easy for students to visit other popular nearby destinations including Liverpool, Leeds, and York.
