5 Things You Need To Know About Clearing

Clearing can be nerve-racking – but we’ve got you covered with our top tips.

1. Prepare and relax. You will be making a decision that will affect your life for the next three years at least, so it’s important to be calm and consider your options.

2. Get advice from friends, family and teachers who you trust will guide you the right way.

3. Do your research into the courses that are on offer and have your UCAS ID number and the code of the course to hand. Choose a course that best fits you.

4. Have your phone at the ready and check your emails regularly. You may not get an offer straight away.

5. Finally, don’t panic. It’s a busy period of the year and universities will have a lot of phone calls to deal with so be patient and you will get a response.

And remember, students come to us through clearing for many different reasons. Maybe you didn’t get the UCAS points you needed, you changed your mind about your course or where you want to go, or perhaps you hadn’t planned on going to university.
