Accommodation & facilities

Swansea University recognises the importance of a home-away-from-home, and offers a selective choice of accommodation options to suit all preferences and budgets.

On-site housing is available at both Bay Campus and Singleton Park Campus, and off-campus options are provided at Hendrefoelan Student Village, which is around two-miles from the city centre. Beck house caters exclusively to families, international students and postgraduates.

Accommodation includes:

  • Free wireless broadband
  • Free contents insurance
  • Telephones in study bedrooms
  • TV points in all study rooms
  • Welfare Wardens in residence
  • Student Residents’ Committees
  • Part-catered and self-catered residences (Bay Campus is self-catered only)
  • En-suite and standard rooms with shared bathrooms (Bay Campus has en-suite rooms only)
  • 40, 47 and 51-week tenancies

The variety of housing options in the area varies a lot and there is a good selection to choose from.”

Each campus is a self-contained learning environment, providing an impressive range of facilities to ensure that students have the resources available at their fingertips to achieve academic and personal success.

Singleton Park provides shops, food and drink outlets, an on-campus theatre, cinema and even a museum with the most extensive collection of Egyptian artefacts outside of London. There are world-class sports facilities, with Olympic standard swimming pools, outdoor and indoor sports pitches, athletic facilities, tennis courts and a fully equipped gymnasium.

The Bay campus includes coffee shops, retail spaces, a fully equipped library, a 700-seat auditorium and its very own beach. Students comment regularly on the quality and accessibility of Swansea’s modern facilities.

"The library is a great space for reading or working, it is quiet, and you can find loads of support materials relating to your course. The engineering street is vast with very high spec equipment to support whatever course you are completing.”

"Excellent library on bay campus! So light and so many options for seats. Loads of study spaces around the place as well. Up to date lecture, seminar and of labs as well.”

“Library is great, and if it’s full then there's so many other rooms or builds where a computer can be found. The engineering labs are amazing to use, there’s so much industry grade equipment.”
