We use cookies for three reasons: to give you the best experience on Whatuni, to make sure the Whatuni ads you see on other sites are relevant, and to measure website usage. Some of these cookies are necessary to help the site work properly and can't be switched off. Cookies also support us to provide our services for free, and by clicking "Accept" below, you are agreeing to our use of cookies. You can manage your preferences now or at any time.
We use cookies, which are small text files placed on your computer, to allow the site to work for you, improve your user experience, to provide us with information about how our site is used, and to deliver personalised ads which help fund our work and deliver our service to you for free.
The information does not usually directly identify you, but it can give you a more personalised web experience.
You can accept all, or else manage cookies individually. However, blocking some types of cookies may affect your experience of the site and the services we are able to offer.
You can change your cookies preference at any time by visiting our Cookies Notice page. Please remember to clear your browsing data and cookies when you change your cookies preferences. This will remove all cookies previously placed on your browser.
For more detailed information about the cookies we use, or how to clear your browser cookies data see our Cookies Notice

SRUC has a dedicated Student’s Association (SRUCSA), which organises a lively program of events throughout the academic year as well as functioning as the representational body of its student community at all campuses.
SRUCSA supports a range of sports teams and special interest societies to encourage an energetic social environment, alongside a timetable of networking and careers events so students can explore their employment opportunities while working towards their qualifications.
The Student’s Association is a student-run organisation, with an enthusiastic team of Officers and Coordinators. Students are invited to take on organisational roles within the committee, allowing them to actively contribute to the college’s culture and expand their own experience beyond the classroom.
SRUCSA co-ordinates a wide range of clubs and societies for its population of around 1,700 students. Options include a variety of sports teams, language groups and special interest societies which provide ample opportunities for students to develop extra-curricular hobbies and interests, as well as socialise with students from outside their course.
The college encourages the establishment of new clubs and societies, offering organisational support and funding to help enterprising students who wish to start something up of their own.
SRUC’s campus locations span the breadth of Scotland and offer a diverse mix of city and rural life, alongside unique lived experiences. Cities range from the hilly capital of Edinburgh, with cosmopolitan charm and abundance of restaurants, galleries and museums, to the port city of Aberdeen, deep in the Scottish heartlands with a landscape of granite architecture and maritime heritage.
Historic market towns such as Cupar and Dumfries offer a more relaxed pace of life, with sweeping rivers and surrounding woodland and countryside to explore and enjoy. SRUC also has a campus in the coastal town of Ayr, a short distance to the beach and birthplace of the famous Scottish bard, Robert Burns.
A popular destination for hiking, golfing and horse racing, there is plenty of outdoor activities for students to discover, and an extensive rail network which connects the SRUC campuses with the rest of the country.
