Students at the University Centre South Essex are able to benefit from quality, centrally located accommodation during the course of their studies. The nearby University of Essex apportions some of its student accommodation, which is located in the Queens Road area of Southend, for use by students who attend the University Centre.
These halls of residence include almost 500 individual rooms across shared flats and apartments. The rooms available to students are modern and well-equipped, with en-suite bathrooms. Each apartment or flat contains eight to ten bedrooms in addition to a full kitchen and shared dining and social facilities.
There are also 64 studio flats available for the use of students, with their own kitchen facilities for private use. In addition to this, a number of tailor-made, self-contained flats are available to students with disabilities and can be specifically requested when making an application to study. Any other particular requirements or access needs can be discussed directly with the University Centre South Essex to ensure that they are properly met.
Rooms within the accommodation are equipped with 24-hour, high speed internet at no extra cost. In addition, students can enjoy Wi-Fi coverage, communal lounge and recreation areas, and laundry facilities.
At University Centre South Essex, students can achieve a fantastic educational experience through the outstanding and high-quality facilities that are available across the campuses. Students are able to study at the cutting-edge of their field and actively contribute to the expansion of knowledge through access to industry-specific laboratory and industrial equipment, as well as dedicated well-equipped studio spaces, study areas, and more.
Students will also be able to utilise facilities such as The Forum in Southend-on-Sea, the East Wing Campus in Thurrock and The Backstage and Costume Centres Purfleet, all of which have outstanding modern facilities and stand out in the region for their quality.
In addition, the University Centre South Essex campuses offer students places to eat, shop and study in a variety of environments as it suits their needs. The campus also benefits from great transport links, with bus and railway stations connecting the area to London and further afield, located just a short distance from the campus.
