The Student Enrichment Team provides additional, fun activities for students, which they can take part in outside of their studies. The student liaison officers plan and deliver exciting trips, themed events, volunteering opportunities, and other activities, throughout the year.
Additionally, the Student Enrichment Team supports Learner Voice, which acts to represent students by giving them the opportunity to tell the college how it’s performing, as well as anything they would like to see improved at the college.
The college hold elections for Student Representatives and Governors of the college, to give students a say in important matters that might affect them, including school funding and the quality of education provided. This provides a great opportunity for students to gain additional skills to take into the workplace after they’ve completed their studies at the college.
The Student Enrichment Team creates regular opportunities for students to join a variety of clubs and societies, as well as take trips throughout the year to places such as Alton Towers and Warner Bros. Studios Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.
The Enrichment Team's role is to ensure students have access to fun and exciting opportunities outside of their studies so that they can build great experiences and relax. The team also provides additional opportunities for students so that they can develop their skills for the workplace. This is done through various volunteering activities, including fundraising.
As a result, Solihull College and University Centre is home to a vibrant and sociable student community and welcomes learners from all backgrounds and lifestyles. Students at the college will be able to meet and make friends for life.
A beautiful location with lots of historic architecture, surrounded by gorgeous countryside. The town of Solihull is located just south of Birmingham and has around 200,000 residents.
Solihull has a vibrant town centre with a good mix of shops, cafes, restaurants and a cinema. Solihull has some beautiful natural green areas and parks, including Brueton Park, Tudor Grange Park and Hillfield Park. The railway station provides direct links to nearby Birmingham, as well as London.
Birmingham - Britain’s second largest city, is just a short journey from Solihull. With a large international airport, and rail links to various cities across the UK- students can stay well connected.
With much to offer students, there’s a huge variety of shops (including The Bullring shopping centre), clubs, bars, restaurants, entertainment and sporting venues. Live music fills the city, and its nightlife is exciting and vibrant. Art, food, and drink festivals are put on at various times throughout the year.
