Students will be supported throughout their studies, whatever their circumstances. Whether it’s financial advice, disability help, the university’s support service will be there every step of the way.
Incoming students will be introduced to three dedicated advisors. One provides academic support, the second is for personal guidance and advice, and the third focuses on developing career aspirations into a plan of action. This trio of advisors will provide support at every stage of study, all the way to graduation and even further.
The careers and employability service can help students further their career options and prospects, and also provide assistance with student fees and funding issues.
There are independent medical centres at each campus, where students can access medical help, support, and advice. There is also access to comprehensive disabled student support.
Quality care is available for children aged six months to five years in the on-campus nursery. Support for student carers and care leavers is also available, as well as students estranged from their families.
Prayer rooms and multi-faith meeting spaces are available at both campuses and international support including orientation sessions, social events, and weekly English language tuition.
Sheffield Hallam University students on Postgraduate Search say:
“I have to meet my supervisor every week and he is very supportive in all technical and non-technical issues.”
“Best experience: The student support provided for international students.”
“My lecturers are also very helpful, you can ask lot of questions as you like, they are always ready to help.”
