Employability advice

The careers and employability centre provides workshops on LinkedIn and job interviews, and regularly hosts careers fairs and talks by industry experts. The careers support achieved a student satisfaction rate of 95% (Life@Sheffield Hallam Survey 2018). All students have access to an employability adviser who helps them develop career skills, from job searches and placements to CV writing and interview preparation.

Courses at Sheffield Hallam are designed with help from professional institutes and experts, so students can be confident that they will gain the valued skills that employers seek in a modern jobs marketplace. As a result of this, many of the courses offered are accredited by professional bodies and are great additions to a CV.

Business support

Those who want to become self-employed or have a business idea can receive specialist start-up support and a free office or studio space during their time at university. This opportunity is available for up to five years after graduating.
