All four colleges on campus have a range of housing options. University accommodation on campus means that everything is within walking distance. Rooms range from en-suite, semi-en suite (with a private shower) or with shared bathroom facilities, to suit all budgets. Costs range from GBP 133 to GBP 200.90 a week depending on location and type of room.
The cost of the rooms also includes utility bills, contents insurance and that all-important internet access. There is also 24/7 security, dedicated wardens and flat representatives who are on hand to help with anything should they be needed.
In September 2017, the University of Roehampton opened an award-winning new library. Open 24 hours a day during peak study times from March to May, the library contains hundreds of thousands of books, high-speed Wi-Fi, a range of online resources, over 1,200 seats, private study rooms, dedicated spaces for postgraduate and research students, and a whole floor just for silent studying.
Students also have access to the university’s Learning Skills Hub, which provides advice on using library resources, academic writing, referencing and understanding feedback on work.
Academic facilities also include a theatre, a practice law court, publishing house, technologically advanced laboratories, state-of-the-art sports facilities and a brand-new media hub.
In terms of non-academic facilities, across the four colleges there are numerous cafés and canteens, including The Hive, a student-run eco-café selling hot and cold snacks. The union bar hosts daily events during the week and serves food and drink.
University of Roehampton students on Whatuni say:
“Library was good and library staff helpful.”
“The library is incredible has a great access to computers and books.”
“Since I have only studied through Remote learning, as of now I can't tell of the facilities being provided at the campus but the way the online classes are being carried out, it's worth mentioning. Not to forget about the commuting facilities and study facilities being provided by the university which includes educational equipments and devices which can be easily borrowed from the University.”
