The independent art school offers a range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Pre-Degree courses across the disciplines of Art, Design and Media.
Plymouth College of Art’s lecturers are creative practitioners are experts in their field, with many years of practical industry experience behind them. As artists, they offer both a practical and creative approach, working with students to share ideas and expertise. They can provide students with the skills required to create a portfolio of their work and help them to prepare for an exhibition.
The college works closely with industry contacts who set briefs and assess students in order to help them learn the essential skills required to succeed in business, without compromising on the students’ creativity or artistic integrity.
The college also offers a number of Level 3 UAL Extended Diplomas which are equivalent to three A-Levels and enable students to progress to Higher Education. It also offers students the possibility to study an Extended Diploma as part of the IBCP, which includes two International Baccalaureate Diploma subjects. This teaches students the core IBCP skills they require to succeed in a competitive job market, including communication, artistic integrity and personal skills. Students will also undertake the college’s Character Project.
Students also have the option to study a UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, which is open to students with a Level 3 qualification.
All students have access to Linkedin Learning - a definitive catalogue of professional video tutorials - from how to use PhotoShop, to getting to grips with InDesign. Linkedin Learning can help students learn more about business, design, web, programming, photography, video, 3D and animation, audio, education and CAD.
