Plymouth College of Art was inaugurated in 1856 and is a specialist art school offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in art and design, and media. It is located in Plymouth in South West England.
Students benefit from industry standard workshops and studios and state-of-the-art equipment for students studying Painting, Drawing & Printmaking, Photography, Craft & Material Practices, Graphic Communication, Animation & Games, Fashion Design, and more.
The college is proud of its commitment to both traditional and digital art courses, as evidenced by the creation in 2014 of an £8 million specialist art, craft and digital design centre providing students with cutting-edge ceramics, glass and digital design workshops. The facility also offers further specialist equipment in Fab Lab Plymouth, including 3D printing and laser cutting.
Plymouth College of Art students on Whatuni say:
“I would recommend this uni to anyone. I have never loved education so much, and really have a family on the course. My friend goes to a prestigious art college and hasn't had such a high level of education or opportunities as I have.”
“Without attending PCA I would not be where I am today. I owe a lot to the lecturers and the opportunities that studying at PCA offered me. One thing I would say no matter where you attend, make sure that not only the location is right, but what the university can offer you in regards to support, equipment and opportunities as this will really determine the outcome. PCA can definitely offer all of the above.”
“I really love my uni, I don't think I could have found somewhere better for me. I've been given so many incredible opportunities since I got here and my work has improved massively.”
