Oxford Brookes Students’ Union is a student-run organisation which exists to improve the lives of all students enrolled at the university, and to represent them within the university ecosystem. The students’ union provides activity space, financial advice, and support for over 100 student-led societies.
Brookes Union has an independent advice service where students can access free, impartial guidance on issues ranging from academic matters and finance, to finding good quality accommodation and information about renting and tenancy rights. The union also runs a lively student bar on the Headington Campus, working with organisers and promoters to curate an exciting yearly schedule of events and activities.

There are more than 100 clubs and societies at Oxford Brookes, all run by students, covering all kinds of music, sport and an assortment of other interests, from baking to politics.
If students can’t find a group of interest, the union will provide support to set one up, bringing opportunities to demonstrate leadership skills as well as meeting new people.
Events are organised throughout the year, including club nights, trips away, debates, and dinners. In recent reviews, students were full of praise for the great variety of societies on offer.

With up to 40,000 students in town, Oxford is a great place to live and learn – it’s young, diverse and energetic. Whether looking for pubs or clubs, riverbanks or green spaces, busy markets with great street food or brand names in the new Westgate, Oxford has it covered.
In terms of culture, the city has important museums like the Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers. Oxford city is also home to contemporary art galleries (Modern Art Oxford), lots of venues for live music, and theatres ranging from bigger spaces such as the Oxford Playhouse, to more intimate ones like the Old Fire Station and Burton Taylor.
Oxford has many beautiful parks to relax in with friends, exercise or even revise in. What's more, Oxford is just over an hour away from other major cities including London, Birmingham and Bristol, while the Brighton coast is reachable in just under two hours.
