Every student at Manchester Met is automatically a member of the Students’ Union. The Union exists to make sure you have the best experience you can while you’re at university. It’s not just about focusing on academic results but helping you with everything in life while you’re studying. You can join one of the many clubs and societies, buy something from the shop, get expert advice, find out about campaigning and volunteering opportunities, find a place to meet friends and relax, and more.
Whether you already participate in sport or would like to try new activities, there are more than 130 sports clubs and societies to get involved with. Many of Manchester Met’s teams compete in official leagues against other UK universities and colleges. There is also a range of free drop-in sports and activities across campus, including women-only sessions. Find out more about sport at Manchester Met.
Manchester is a city of opportunity. It’s a northern powerhouse with plans to become a sustainable smart city. It’s a hive of hard work and momentum – neatly embodied by the city’s worker bee emblem. And it’s a place that many see as the nation’s true second capital.
While Manchester has been ranked the third best city in the world*, it’s also a wonderful place to learn. You will be surrounded by art, sport and culture, making the city the perfect setting for exploring your passions and creativity. It’s an energetic city, bustling night and day with its thriving shopping centre, ever-growing food and drink scene, and some of Britain’s best culture – be it art, architecture or music.
It all makes this city so special, and Manchester Met is right at the heart of it.
