Found in central London, the London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) is a specialist institution that offers BA undergraduate courses, HND/HNC courses and postgraduate courses in:

  • Graphics and Multimedia
  • Creative Arts Management

The college focuses on building student’s practical skills, alongside their theoretical knowledge, in order to equip them with the essential skills and experience desired by leading industry employers.

LCCA has built internship agreements with a wide range of top employers in the fashion, media, and design industries. Therefore, as part of your education at LCCA, you will get the opportunity to intern at one of these companies and work alongside the industry leaders that run them.

The LCCA careers team also runs an employer collaboration scheme, where employers can advertise vacancies and host recruitment fairs on campus. They will also help you with things such as CV, portfolio and interview skills via regular skills workshops.

Students are LCCA are taught by the best – skilled lecturers that have spent time working in the industry. In fact, many are currently still active within their chosen field. There is also a series of visiting lecturers throughout the year, keeping you up-to-date with the latest trends from the real world.

Each of the courses has been designed to include some practical element, while internships are offered as part of the course to give you valuable work experience for your CV.

The Student Council is run by a team of student representatives. It’s their job to collect feedback from their fellow students and present it to senior management – making sure the student voice is taken in to consideration when major decisions about the College are made.

There’s a huge range of cutting-edge facilities available for students to use at the College. These include:

  • Three Fashion studios
  • 46 Industrial-level sewing machines
  • Large format photographic printers
  • Mac computer studios, with 110 Apple iMacs
  • Professional video recording cameras

A library houses thousands of books, journals, exhibition catalogues and magazines, with a bulk devoted to the creative arts. A range of online resources can also be used by students, helping you research and create your own work. There are 17 study spaces, a computer room and a silent study room.

Current students and alumni can make use of the Gallery, which showcases media, art and design work. It also hosts artists from across the globe and often works in partnership with high profile galleries and local arts groups.

LCCA is found smack bang in the middle of London, the UK’s capital city. You will never be short of something to do in this thriving metropolis, which is home to over 200 museums and galleries (double that of Paris and New York).

There’s also 150 theatres, 34,000 shops and 3,000 parks and open spaces. You can enjoy a vibrant night life, as well as immersing yourself in some of the world’s great libraries, archives and galleries.

An extremely well-connected city, you can travel to other places across the UK with ease, while several major airports can get you around the world, too.

The student counselling service (SCS) offers a variety of services including help with both academic and personal problems. They can provide counselling appointments, as well as self-help resources to help you overcome common problems by yourself.

A dedicated careers and student employability team will help you even after you’ve graduated. A disability services team is also on hand to offer support and guidance for those that that need it, this encompasses long-term illnesses and conditions, as well as specific learning difficulties and autistic spectrum conditions.

Foundation in Art and Design: UK/EU fee is £4,995
Access to HE Diploma (Fashion): UK/EU fee is £4,500
All HNC/HND courses: UK/EU fee is £6,200
All BA (Hons) courses: UK/EU fee is £9,250

Most courses include additional costs for materials and travel to external events.

The Deans Scholarship

This fund is available to both home and international students. It is funded by the Executive Chairman and Founder of the college and is open to students who can demonstrate academic merits.

In order to apply, you can fill out a form available via the website. You will need to include information on what you expect to gain from the course you’re taking, and what you intend to do after completing the course.

Entry requirements

Undergraduate level courses generally require you to have a full secondary / high-school education and qualifications, and you need to be at least 18 years old. You’ll also be required to fill in an application form, provide a personal statement and send in a copy of your passport / ID card. Some courses require a portfolio to be submitted, and you may be asked to attend an interview.
