We use cookies for three reasons: to give you the best experience on Whatuni, to make sure the Whatuni ads you see on other sites are relevant, and to measure website usage. Some of these cookies are necessary to help the site work properly and can't be switched off. Cookies also support us to provide our services for free, and by clicking "Accept" below, you are agreeing to our use of cookies. You can manage your preferences now or at any time.
We use cookies, which are small text files placed on your computer, to allow the site to work for you, improve your user experience, to provide us with information about how our site is used, and to deliver personalised ads which help fund our work and deliver our service to you for free.
The information does not usually directly identify you, but it can give you a more personalised web experience.
You can accept all, or else manage cookies individually. However, blocking some types of cookies may affect your experience of the site and the services we are able to offer.
You can change your cookies preference at any time by visiting our Cookies Notice page. Please remember to clear your browsing data and cookies when you change your cookies preferences. This will remove all cookies previously placed on your browser.
For more detailed information about the cookies we use, or how to clear your browser cookies data see our Cookies Notice

While courses at KLC are validated by the University of Brighton, the school itself is not part of any university and so does not have its own Students’ Union.
Instead, because the school has such a limited intake, social events are organised to be closer to the design theme, with events throughout the year that offer networking opportunities, exhibitions and more.
There is a welfare team at the school to help students with any concerns, including ensuring that every student is represented fairly and treated equally. They also offer a careers service, including multiple 1-2-1 sessions throughout students’ time at the school and other trainings such as CV preparation and professional practice.
There is extra support available for international students as well, including making sure students from further afield are fully acclimatised and integrated onto their course.
KLC School of Design is a very specialised centre for learning that is not like larger universities. As such, and without a students’ union, there are no clubs and societies that students can join if they have wider interests.
Instead, the school is very much focussed on a passion for interior and garden design, and instead offers the KLC Connect programme. This brings together students, alumni and other industry experts for a series of events every year to help students learn more about the design opportunities available to them, and to share ideas amongst likeminded lovers of both interior and exterior design.
There are other events held throughout the year too, aimed at offering students more time and space to flex their design ideas and muscles. As for socialising, students will find that organising their own events with the small class numbers is simple.
KLC is right amongst some of the most exciting parts of London, within a short distance of popular attractions like the Saatchi Gallery and Hyde Park. Students who choose KLC will find that there is a wealth of inspiring design-related galleries close by.
It’s also great just for unwinding - London is of course home to a huge and diverse range of restaurants, bars, clubs and more, along with theatres, parks, sporting facilities and all kinds of ways of spending down time. And in terms of spending, just be on your toes if you love shopping - there are so many chain and independent boutique stores that you’ll be spoiled for choice.
The transport network is extensive and easy to use, and there are some charming cities and locations all within a short train journey if a trip out of the city is called for - it’s easy to take a day trip to Cambridge, Windsor or to the coast at Brighton.
