As courses at ION are remote and online, there is no accommodation provided. There are hotels within easy reach of the institute for students who sign up to optional attendance activities and wish to stay over.

Courses at ION are taught online, although some do have optional attendance activities. These are hosted in Richmond, London, at the Institute’s comfortable and modern facilities. This also includes the Optimum Nutrition Clinic, used for student clinical practice training. The consulting rooms have fully integrated audio-visual equipment for observing onsite and online consultations.

ION’s annual industry day is located in central London providing the opportunity to meet and network with potential employers and suppliers for clinical work.

Students need a laptop or PC to access the course material, which primarily consists of webinars and interactive materials via the virtual learning environment RelION. Developed to support the student learning journey, RelION provides a platform for collaborative learning communities, delivering course content and allowing for various forms of assessment. Through RelION, students will also have 24/7 access to a wide range of online resources including study skills, video and audio materials, full-text scientific databases, student chat rooms and tutoring forums. Because it is cloud-based, it can be accessed anywhere with internet connection, at any time.

Students have full access to the University of Portsmouth’s digital and on-site library.
