The Institute for Children, Youth and Mission (CYM) is a specialist college in the UK, which offers accredited degree courses to those seeking to expand their faith into formal scholarship. CYM aims to provide a framework of study to equip people to work in churches, Christian voluntary sector organisations and secular settings, as well as participate in practical theology and community ministry.
Teaching takes places at the Nottingham campus in blocks which are scheduled at regular intervals. The campus is based at Trent Vineyard Church which provides facilities such as on-site café and teaching rooms. The remainder of the time students spend in their placement base, practicing what they are learning and studying.
CYM offers both bachelors and masters degree programmes, and a selection of short courses designed to teach students what is needed to work with children, young people and the vulnerable, in communities. Degree courses are accredited by Newman University, and completion of the college’s youth work courses includes a JNC qualification, which equips graduates to work in a diverse landscape of secular and faith-based opportunities.
