Harper Adams University is the UK's leading specialist institution for agriculture, food production, animal health, land and environmental sciences.
At its rural campus in Shropshire and a new Telford Town Centre digital skills hub, Harper Adams delivers degrees shaped by real-world challenges. Students here gain the skills and confidence to lead in industries that truly matter to people and planet:
Our degrees are built around hands-on experience, cutting-edge research, and a powerful sense of purpose. Most undergraduate students complete a paid placement year, while enjoying access to one of the UK's most advanced teaching farms, extensive science and engineering laboratories and purpose-built centres for veterinary-related education.
We won Best Career Prospects for the ninth year running at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2025 - thanks to our outstanding performance in preparing students for excellent graduate outcomes.
Students describe their time here as "life-changing", "supportive", and "one big family". The sense of community and support is a stand-out factor for many graduates – they find friends for life, whilst also building their career network from day one.
Scholarships are available to eligible students – offering either funds to cover university fees, bursaries for living expenses or a combination of both.
Start researching as soon as possible – you might even secure your new place before results day.
If in doubt, chat to us! We have a friendly team of advisors who are more than happy to support you as you work out the path forward.
Have all your information to hand when you call as it will make the process much easier - results, predicted grades, UCAS ID, contact info etc.
We're a specialist University – but we have something for everyone, including degrees for careers you might never have considered. So, whether you have missed out on a place, haven't applied to anything yet or are thinking about changing your mind, it's worth seeing what's on offer!
Step 1: Explore the courses and how they align with your interests. Always take a close look at the modules in each course to get a true idea of what you will study. And consider where it might take you. All our courses have been built hand-in-hand with industry, to ensure you will graduate with the skills and experience employers need. That's why Food Innovation student Charlotte, for example, was able to launch a product that you can already buy in supermarkets during her placement year.
Popular for Clearing is our Accelerated Veterinary Bioscience programme. This two-year course specifically prepares candidates for entry into a Graduate Veterinary Medicine course.
We offer a range of Foundation Year degrees – these have an extra year at the start to prepare you for university and are popular with candidates who have missed out on A-level grades or who have had a break from their studies.
Our engineering and business routes also tend to be popular in Clearing – because they offer skills that can be applied across multiple industries.
And new for 2025 – we are offering degrees in Robotics & Automation and in Data Science at our new Telford campus. These routes are backed by various locally-based but globally influential tech firms, who want to have a pipeline of fresh talent!
Step two: Get in touch! Call our hotline or drop us an email (phone only on A-level results day) to find out if we have a place for you. Have your qualifications to hand (past and predicted grades) to help us work out if you qualify and make you a verbal offer, which we can follow up with an email.
Step three: Log on to UCAS and apply! Depending on your status, you might have to release yourself into Clearing. We can guide you on that when you call.
Step four: Get your formal offer and accept it! Hurray – you have secured your place.
Step five: Follow all the instructions to ensure a smooth transition to uni. Apply for accommodation (don't worry, we should have a space for you), sort your student finance, let us know of any support needs and find out what you need to bring.
Step six: Come to campus and dive into Welcome Week and your studies.
Step seven: Complete your course, graduate and start an exciting, rewarding career. Or progress to further study – the world's your oyster!
