

The Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology open in 2017, founded by Sir James Dyson as a direct response to the shortfall of engineers in Britain. The institute originally awarded its degrees in partnership with the University of Warwick, but in 2021 it became the first alternative provider in the UK to be given degree-awarding powers.
The campus for the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology is based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. It's an independent higher education provider that is fully integrated with the technology company that shares its name, offering students the chance to engage with real-world product engineering situations alongside looking to the future of engineering.

The Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology offers support to students with the goal of helping develop their future opportunities at Dyson, including one-to-one mentorship, career insight sessions, networking events and more. First year undergraduate students can live on-campus in the Dyson Village in modular pods which feature a sleeping area, ad study area, a bathroom and storage. The fees for these pods are £550 a month for undergraduate students, which includes bills.
After first year, many students go on to find housing elsewhere, and the institute offers events to help equip students with the knowledge needed to find somewhere to rent.
The Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology offers students the opportunity to study a BEng Engineering programme, and there are plans in place for MEng and MSc courses to be hosted at the institute too. The courses cover a variety of engineering areas, and allow students to specialise in certain areas, including software engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics hardware engineering and electromechanical engineering.
