Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) is home to a huge range of societies and sports clubs. It is the central hub of much of the university’s social calendar and represents the voice of its community of around 35,000 students.
Students can get social, stay active and get involved in volunteering or become a student rep and participate in the organisation of the university itself. These activities are great opportunities for students to enhance their CV’s, and demonstrate skills and leadership qualities to prospective employers.
The university also runs a Postgraduates’ Guild, where graduate students can meet and network with other like-minded individuals.
Coventry University students on Postgraduate Search say:
“I have been to the students’ union a handful of times - there is a variety of food stalls available including Starbucks, Papa Johns, Greggs, etc.”
“The students union is also linked to the self-employed business support programme that I have signed up to, they are very helpful and accessible.”
Coventry University’s Student’ Union (CUSU) is home to around 50 student-led sports clubs and up to 100 special interest societies, covering a huge range of groups and activities. From musical theatre and movie clubs, to language groups and cultural societies, as well as more niche offerings such as the Nintendo society, there is something to suit all interests.
In 2021, Coventry will play host to many exciting events to celebrate its UK City of Culture selection, in which the university’s students are strongly encouraged to participate.
Steeped in history, Coventry is a vibrant and exciting cosmopolitan city that is home to a diverse population. The campus is situated in the very heart of the city, offering students easy access to cultural activities, museums and galleries right on the university’s doorstep. Coventry also has a wide variety of shops and restaurants, as well as multiple music and sporting venues that will come alive as Coventry plays host as the UK City of Culture for 2021.
Students can enjoy the peace and quiet of the city's green spaces. Coombe Abbey Country Park is nearby and a great place to escape the hustle and bustle.
Coventry is a well-connected Midlands city, only an hour from London by rail, with Birmingham just a 20-minute train journey away.
