There are nearly 1,000 study bedrooms available for students across the two Cardiff Met campuses, with further available from private halls of residences. Prices can change, so it’s worth checking the accommodation web pages of the Cardiff Met website for up to date and accurate information.
The Cyncoed campus is located two miles from the city centre, with Halls available on site for ultra-convenience - no need to travel far for lectures! The campus is served by regular buses, to give you transport in and out of the city centre when you need it. There’s an array of sporting facilities, 24-hour computer labs, on-site laundry and numerous cafes. Bedrooms are standard, en-suite, or refurbished en-suite. You get free wireless internet, a free flat screen TV in the majority of kitchens, and free contents insurance. Self-catered rooms are between £116.00 - £124.00, while catered cost between £164.00 - £175.00.
The Plas Gwyn campus can be found just outside Cardiff city centre in Llandaff. It is served by bus routes between other campuses and into the city centre. There are 393 single study bedrooms, which all have en-suite bathrooms. Rooms are grouped in flats of eight, with shared kitchen and dining areas. On-site there is a multiuse games arena, on-site laundry, data room and communal TV room with vending machines. There are also shops, restaurants, bars, banking and other facilities within five-minute walk, and there also sports and leisure facilities nearby. You can enjoy free flat screen TVs in kitchens and free contents insurance. Rent is £112.00 - £118.00 a week (based on a 40-week contract).
Many student reviewers rated accommodation well, placing the university in 14th place out of 126 in the Whatuni Student Choice Rankings.

The Llandaff campus has recently had millions of pounds of investment. There are sporting facilities, a students’ union, on-site shop, coffee bars and a refectory. It is also home to the part of the Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences, Cardiff School of Management, Cardiff School of Technologies’ and the Cardiff School of Art and Design.
There are also subject specific facilities, including the Zero2Five Food Industry Centre, which houses a laboratory, specialist equipment, a research kitchen and more. In the psychology department, there are dedicated computer laboratories for carrying out different kinds of research.
At the Cyncoed campus, you’ll find the Cardiff School of Education & Social Policy and the Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences. Here there are on-site sporting facilities, a shop, coffee bars and a refectory. There is also the head office for the Students and Athletics’ union. There are also a number of subject specific facilities, including physiology labs, biomechanics lab, a massage teaching room and more.
Students were happy with the facilities available to them.
