It is important to choose the course and university that's right for you
it will help the team support you.
Clearing can feel overwhelming, but it's also a real opportunity. With thousands of students finding the right course through clearing each year. If results day doesn't go to plan, it's important to stay calm. With a little preparation, you can feel confident about your next steps.
Start by understanding how Clearing works. It's available to anyone who hasn't received or accepted an offer, didn't meet their offer conditions, or is applying after 30 June. Our Clearing guide can help you understand each step.
Next, do your research. Create a shortlist of universities and courses that interest you, considering subject content, entry requirements, placements, location and student support. Many universities, including BU, publish their Clearing course vacancies in early July.
Be ready to ask your questions. From course details and accommodation to financial support and student life. Being prepared will help you make confident decisions.
On results day, keep your UCAS ID, results and personal statement close to hand so you can move through the process smoothly.
Most importantly, take your time. Explore your options, ask for advice, and focus on what's right for you. Clearing isn't about settling; it's about finding where you belong.
