Student Speak

“Without the lab placement, my mentors support and tutors help, it would not have been possible to be where I am right now. I believe this course and work placement have developed my personal and practical employability skills.”

Podiatry graduate

The Football Business Management & Coaching Foundation Degree helped me gain an understanding of the different coaching styles and how they can be effective. I was given the opportunity to plan and organise a four week football workshop to teenagers with Special Educational Needs at Wyre Forest School through my business module. Through my work based learning module, I worked alongside the Kidderminster Harriers Football Development Officer to help the club become dementia friendly and organised visits to local dementia cafes, in order to advertise social and activity days held at the stadium. By having these opportunities, I have been able to progress on to the Sport Coaching Science with Disability course with ease. With my experience of coaching children with special educational needs, it has helped my understanding of inclusive coaching module. Through developing skills within the work based module, I am now gaining further experience coaching children outside of my studies.
