Don’t panic! BCU student Emily says, “To everyone applying this year, don't be nervous because you will find that the process is really quick, and rewarding.”
Don’t forget to have your grades and/or UCAS points, ID number if you have one, and course details for what you’d like to apply to hand.
Clearing offers you a chance to find a full-time undergraduate course to start this September. Thousands of students find their university place through Clearing every year, so you won't be alone in exploring your options.
The university will publish a list of the courses which have places available to start in the coming September. As soon as you have your results, you can apply for the course either online (from 5 July) or by calling the university's Clearing hotline which opens on A Level/BTEC Results Day (Thursday 14 August) on 0333 733 4182.
If you have the required results for the course, you can be made an offer in Clearing. Once you have been made an offer, you will receive an email from the university which explains what you need to do next to accept your offer and arrange student finance or accommodation if you need it.
BCU offers a Clearing guide you can download to find out more about the process, including a step-by-step guide and information about how to research your Clearing options ahead of the day.
Once you've been offered a place through Clearing, you'll need to sort out your Student Finance application (if relevant); Student Finance England will try to make sure you get some of your student finance as close as possible to the start of term, but the sooner you apply the better.
If you're looking at moving into student accommodation, you'll need to apply for this too. We are able to offer accommodation within the University portfolio so long as you have accepted a place on a course and have applied for accommodation by the deadline.
