As evidenced by their unique format of evening classes, Birkbeck believes that access to education should be available to students from all backgrounds. The university is committed to providing a financial support service which ensures that all postgraduate students are able to focus their energy on their course of study, and secure the funding needed to continue their work without undue stress or worry. Birkbeck offers flexible payment options and an annual hardship fund which aims to provide a level of security to those who may experience a change of circumstances while studying.
Birkbeck also offers generous financial support to students on low incomes, including a Birkbeck Postgraduate Bursary and help with childcare costs.
There is a 10% discount on tuition fees available for members of any union that is recognised by the TUC, and for Birkbeck graduates wishing to do their postgraduate course at the university, although students are eligible for only one of these discounts.
Tuition fees vary on a course-by-course basis, depending on choice of subject and study format. Full information can be found on the university website, under individual course descriptions.
