Bangor University is dedicated to the success of its students, acknowledging that there can be many challenges involved in moving to a new city or country to study. The university endeavours to provide the best possible support services to ensure the well-being of its student community, in both a social and academic sense. The Student Services Centre provides a comprehensive hub of support services on campus and offers a wide programme of resources including study skills workshops, free counselling, financial guidance, accommodation support, and specialised resources for dyslexic and disabled students.
Every postgraduate student at Bangor is assigned a personal tutor within the academic staff who will be the first point of contact for any academic or personal issues. These tutors remain with their student throughout the duration of their studies and provide an invaluable mentorship role as each student progresses through their academic course. Bangor also provides many services specific to postgraduate students, including a dedicated research writing group to assist with PhD thesis development.
