Here's how to get started with Clearing, step by step:
1. Is Clearing right for you?
Clearing is for anyone who wants to start uni this September and doesn't yet have a confirmed place. If you've changed your mind, didn't get the results you expected, or are applying late, Clearing could be for you.
2. Do your research
Think about the subject area you're interested in and what matters most to you - like course content, placements, or study options such as a foundation year. Explore practical details too: location, accommodation, student support and facilities all play a part in your uni experience.
Once you've narrowed things down, start comparing universities and courses to see what feels right for you.

4. Get ready to apply
When you're ready, apply online via your chosen course page or call us. It helps to have:

If we're able to make you an offer, you'll receive a formal offer email from us.
If you're not applying through UCAS, you can accept your place with us straightaway.
If you are using UCAS, just log in to your account and add ARU and your course as your Clearing choice.
Your offer might come with a few conditions, such as an interview, an occupational health check or a DBS check. We'll explain anything you need to do clearly in your offer email, and we'll support you at every step.
Once your place is confirmed, it's time to start getting ready for uni life. That could mean sorting out your student finance, looking at accommodation options, or just getting your head around what to expect in September.
