ARU is a career-focussed university, with the on-campus employability services running CV and interview workshops, alongside company visits and sector events. A dedicated team can help students to source part-time, flexible work that fits in with their studies, and students can also receive guidance to source and apply for placements.
The university is leading the way with degree apprenticeships, a work-based alternative route to gaining a degree. Students can gain work experience and a degree at the same time and have no tuition fees if they study through this route.
ARU invests in student employability and in recent years it has made sure that its courses are covering the specific skills and knowledge needed by employers. Student reviews praise the university for its additional employment services provided.
Anglia Ruskin University students on Whatuni say:
“They really prepare you for employment within the course and with stuff like ARU temps and the career centre, as well as events with external people.”
“They’re always sending emails relating to work experience.”
“Sent job opportunities weekly, which is really nice. Shows they’re trying to aid and support us in our future.”
