The college is a well-resourced institution and has designed a programme of options for financial support, offered on both merit-based and means-tested criteria. These awards give hard working and ambitious students an opportunity to fund their studies through their academic work, as well as providing a safety net for those students facing financial hardship. Scholarships are awarded on an individual basis and are not guaranteed.
There are two awards available for the 2022/23 academic year:
The Academic Excellence Scholarship
All students enrolled on postgraduate degree-level study are eligible to receive this award. It is valued at £2,000 and awarded as a discount of tuition fee payments, which is allocated based on the achievement of academic excellence and motivation. All students are considered for the award upon enrolment, with recipients being notified shortly after.
The Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Bursaries
This bursary scheme is awarded on a case-by-case basis to students experiencing financial hardship. The amount awarded varies based on personal circumstance, and the bursary is available to students enrolled on a full-time basis. Full information is available online.
There is a variety of course types at Alm College, based on factors such as duration, mode of attendance, level of study and style of course delivery. Additionally, a student’s tuition fee status will have an impact on the cost of study. There are three types of fee status for Scottish, Rest of UK, and Overseas candidates, respectively, and prospective applicants are advised to check the tuition fee status pages on the college website to find out which group they are in.
There is a range of tuition fee costs depending on a student’s characteristics, so prospective students are encouraged to check the course-specific pages on the college website to learn more. The admissions office can be contacted at any time during the year, to ask questions or get more information.
