Tell us about your overall college experience so far.
Bad. Dont bother with this University. Attending here was one of the worst years of my life. Was much happier after transferring to another Uni. I was told by lecturers in Yeovil id never get a degree. After transferring away I now have a degree, a masters and am currently studying for a postgrad diploma. This would not have been possible to do in Yeovil with lecturers bringing you down.
How does your college make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Not at all
Course and Lecturers
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
There was nothing good about the course or lecturers. The lecturers were unhelpful and rude.
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Never got involved in Unions.
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
It was private housing but reserved for the University Students. It was one of the worst places I ever lived. I did not feel safe living there.
How good are your college's facilities?
No books on-site very little computers no access to books or journals we were told to read.
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
Didnt get involved
How good is the support offered by the college? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
No support was offered. Attended a course here and was ignored by the lecturers. I was told by them that I would never get a degree and might aswell drop out. I always recieved marks of around 40% and barely passed. I ended up transferring to a different Uni in London after the first year and instantly began getting marks of 60-70% for the same work and was helped and encouraged by the lecturers in the London Uni, unlike Yeovil.
