Writtle is a smaller university, and because of that its friendlier and your more than a number in the lecture. The lecturers know every student and are always available for help. The facilities, yards and horses help with the lectures. There are also lots of practicals which supplement the theory.

Writtle is a great place to study, with lecturers who have current industry experience and many contacts and are able to teach as well as relate to the industry. They are more than happy to help and point students in the right direction. If there are any problems the SU are a great way of having a voice and also put on great social events. The only downside of this uni (which may be a positive for some people) is that it is right out in the countryside, therefore it is sometimes quite difficult to get out and about if you don't have a car, although there is are public transport links. The accommodation is good and well priced. A great place to study with maximum academic and social support.

Writtle college has many good lecturers but you need to make sure to put in the extra effort, especially those which are science based. If you live in halls the food standard is not 100% and the horses should not be kept on diy unless your horse likes 24/7 stabling.

Really good practical experience to help you understand the theoretical side of the subjects. Some lecturers will always go out of their way to help you however much they can. Assessments are split throughout the year and split between exams and assignments so there is something for everyone to succeed in. Accommodation is expensive for what it is, with no self catering option and hardly anything available at weekends, limited food choice in the canteen, we end up cooking pasta a lot of the times.

I really like the uni, the course is varied and the small class sizes mean that i can get one to one time with lecturers to help me with my course, the atmosphere around campus is very friendly for both staff and students and there is always someone around if you need help

Writtle was once a prestigious institution that commanded respect if you attained a qualification there. Now it is just a name. The students are generally friendly, the staff (non lecturers) are helpful and friendly. I experienced racism, homophobic comments and just general derogatory comments made about not only other staff but also my fellow students from the course lecturers. One horticulture lecturer, which for the point of this rant lets just pretend he is a turf specialist. Had an eye for the students, the younger female ones. Labeled himself the uncle and the one to go drinking with during trips. Also used to like spending time in favourite female students tents. Very huggy and touchy feely. The ritz (Canteen as certainly not good enough to be called much more) is horrendous and I managed to get food poisoning on three occasions in 1year. The library is well stocked, the grounds are magnificent and well worth the visit.
