Sociology BA (Hons)

Worcester is a fairly small uni which is growing quickly. There is a brilliant range of sports on offer but sadly only a few societies. The lectures are approachable and friendly, most of them are very helpful. Teaching groups are small (usually 30-50 students) which means lectures and seminars are more interactive. All campuses and the City Centre are within walking distance and there are plenty of houses to rent near the uni and town. The best bit is that the uni and students don't take themselves too seriously and aren't too pretentious. Worcester is fairly small so nights out tend to consist of going to one of two/three clubs, either (Sin and Bushies or Tramps) which sounds dull but works quite nicely as you always meet people you know on a night out and Tramps do all the uni events like freshers week. Other places do cater for non-clubby people. The university facilities are good, there is a gym, nursery and housing on campus. The university is investing a lot in its infrastructure, since starting the uni in 2011 they have built a new library, an arena, the city campus building and riverside building.

Primary Education with QTS (5-11 years) BA (Hons)

The most disorganised university you will ever attend. Lecturers and support staff cannot seem to communicate with each other to the extent that on my PGCE we recieved over 10 seperate lessons on lesson planning - that's 20 hours of how to plan a lesson in each subject. Lectures for anything other than English, Maths and Science are not worth attending. There are never any computers to work on and the library is across the other side of town and no book to be found.

well.... the uni's sports facility are ok; 2 astro turf pitches hockey etc, the gyms are small and outdated to say the least, but the main reason for my scathing review is the 'all new super library' which is awful, combining public and university libraries who ever thought that would be a good idea?! I frequently see people being kicked out for smoking drugs, drinking as well as the homeless community which seem to live there, if your lucky you might be able to fine one of the books on your courses recommended reading! Oh then there’s the inbred chav population that hand around outside trying to being imposing and the day care for children that seems to be offered during the week… screaming children in a library makes sense… and to top it off… have you ever seen or even needed a bouncer for a library, yep we’ve got one of those!City life is awful, 3 clubs, 1 shuts early and acts as a feeder club to another, the second is alright small but alright and the third one is god awful, situated in an old church with 10,000 different rooms all paying pop form years ago if anything I think it’s just a different version of NOW CD in each room. The SU? What SU it’s a coffee bar! The courses are wide ranging but overall meh, lecturers have very different marking styles and what’s an A* in one module is a D in another, as I joint hons student, the difference between the marking criteria is astronomical an A in one subject is a F in another! There’s a reason why it’s known as the university of Butlins!

Nice city, Poor university. Take little notice of a persons individual needs, very poor provision for students travelling into university. only had one academic tutor appointment in three years.
