It's been challenging for both the University, LABC and Students. However, we are all going in the right direction and I am hopeful for the success of the course.
As this is a part-time course we are already working.
Flexibility of online courses means they can be attended wherever with a link and internet connection being the only things needed to listen into the lecture and participate. However, there is a disadvantage with engagement not being in person but this is made up for at residential weeks.
Not had any involvement so can't comment.
From the facilities available at Telford Campus for the residential these are very good overall.
As I am Midlands based this is good for travel for me for the residential weeks we have based at the Telford Campus. There are a good choice of shops and local conveniences for students when we stayed the first time in November 2019. As this is a part-time course and is online lecture based we don't use physical facilities regularly.
Personal support was explained previously at inductions and appears good. Academic I have not had personally the best experience with feedback from marking being very generic and not personal to me as it has been copied and pasted from the marking scheme comments. So I find it hard to know how to improve.
So far so good. 2 modules last semester I was not massively happy with just because it did not seem fit with the foundation year and the course I am going on to. Felt like they were just thrown in there to make the year up. But apart from that, everything else is great.
Wolverhampton campus has a careers centre and they’re so helpful. Anything you need to know they can help you with.
Lectures are brilliant and always happy to help. Nothing really that I like least about it.
Brilliant place, do not use it too much myself but I know people who do.
10/10. Wolverhampton has a wider variety but that’s just because it’s the main (and bigger) campus.
Walsall campus has a brilliant private location with free parking (if you’re lucky enough to get a space). It’s like a small community when on campus. Wolverhampton campus is in the heart of the town so has excellent facilities in the campus and around campus. Much bigger than Walsall and has everything you need and more (even a Starbucks).
Walsall campus has much bigger and better sports facilities, 10/10 would recommend. Can not comment on societies as I do not take part in them.
It’s the best. If you’re unsure of something your personal tutor can more than likely point you in the right direction.
Uni campus life is close and connected. Organisation needs improvement
work in placement, increases chances
love the lecturers. Needs more organisation
Good when around campus
Condition of rooms + facilities poor far price paid
Good for town. Better to go to Birmingham
Counselling needs improvement. Other support can be good.
Hot water dispensers should be provided in campus
only a few weeks at uni. Sometimes hard to contact tutors when on placement
no midwifery society
not supportive, factor that has decreased my mental health
45 mins drive from home
20 week waiting list to speak to someone
lack of organisation, no student support.
lack of support, helping students individual needs.
Enjoyed it. Placement alongside teaching has been very useful to consolidate learning. Best experience.
Good lectures, sometimes unorganised but taught well
Events e.g pub quiz eve is good
Expensive parking is awful!!!
overall good with lots to practice skills
close to shops etc.
mental health support REALLY NOT GOOD. Needs significant improvement!!!!!
uni has been great! Accommodation at walsall isn't brilliant but its friends that make it good. The uni itself is good with good facilities.
Good placement opportunities
Contact hours vary from week to week with a maximum of 48 and a minimum of 12
SU opening hours and prices poor.
Costs far too much for what is available. Poor condition. Good location
Great new health block with state of art facilities, library opening hours also good.
My halls is close to uni, with shops and nightlife nearby
lots and lots of sports activities
Mental health support is terrible!!! Lecturer support is not bad.
