The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

has been horrible. people here are very difficult to work with and even the security guards have a problem. dont like it here at all.

lecturers have a tendency to arrive to seminars and yet have the audacity to tell students that they should be punctual. my course is terrible there isn't a positive thing I can mention

Would have been higher had it been in person. But despite how isolating online learning has been university Has tried to be as accommodating as possible. However, during my four years at Westminster I have enjoyed my time, made good friends and have had excellent support from staff. I think this university has help to build my confidence and somewhat prepared me for graduate jobs.
Constantly offer mentorship, job opportunities and practice mock assessment centres.
It’s been completely online this year. Not that many contact hours but the professors respond quickly to emails.
Have excellent hygenie team because of covid. They offer you to book social spaces for silent study and resources as needed to ensure social distancing.
A range of services available
Both virtually and in-person, it has been okay. Some lecturers are very supportive and empathetic, they WANT to help you progress and do well. Other lecturers CHOOSES who and how to help, they are very blunt and show lack of empathy when needed. I have had professors who refuse to give me feedback on how to improve, but will accused me of plagiarism indirectly. Being hearing impaired, online schooling has been really hard and some teachers don’t really adjust tk that.
My overall experience at university this year has been alright. It’s not been the best but considering the circumstances, the university have tried its best to make learning for the students as easy as possible.
My overall experience has been good. As I have learnt new skills including communication and thinking skills. I have also learnt a lot about what is happening around the world. Due to my course. However, I feel like because it was online we should not have paid full fees because I did not get to 100% experience uni life.
My class is 100% online with no blended lectures. due to the covid pandemic.
I feel that more 1-1 could’ve been offered , been more lenient with assignments as students have had it hard this year and a half , however students have been reaching out to lecturers in regards to the help that they need to progress i don’t know how much help they’ve received. The experience overall hasn’t changed much compared to my first year but I do feel like I’ve been let down in regards to support

Equipment hire is pretty easy , cleanliness is great , pretty easy to access things especially equipments but sometimes there’s a waiting list
Mental health support is offered however don’t think it’s taken too seriously when it affects students education I feel that we’re expected to cope with it
I’ve enjoyed my first year at the university of Westminster and don’t regret coming here. It was a great experience. I had amazing tutors and professors. I learned a lot. It is challenging, of course, but if you try hard enough, you will get the best results.
The university of Westminster provides with a lot of courses with career service activities., like CV writing. They also provide with a lot of job opportunities, internships or volunteering.
The course was mostly taught online this year because of COVID-19, however I enjoyed it very much. In the university studios, it’s also very nice. Architecture course is one of the most difficult ones in terms of the amount of work. But we got all the needed support. Tutors and professors are very professional, friendly and will help you with almost any issue you might have. Usually the teaching hours are 6 hours twice a week, 1-4 (depending on a module) hours twice a week and 1 day is free. The rest of the time we do the work on our own. But then every week we get some feedback from our tutors.
The studios are clean. They have storage space, printers, tv for sharing presentations, big windows. These is a store with materials and large format printers for architecture course. Small cafeteria. However, since the University is in he city center, there are a lot of cafes and restaurants around.
Every student has a personal tutor with whom they can share their problems. There is support for people with disabilities. Also, for those who struggle to submit on time, can always apply for mitigating circumstances and get additional time. Also, people with disabilities or mental health issues can get additional time to submit work. Those who need help will always get support if they ask for it.
The University provides great Faculty and the teaching is well above average however the aspects that need change is student support and questioning of wellbeing especially during the pandemic and lockdown. Most students are currently living alone, away from home or even unable to socialise with the few friends they have made within a university setting. One of the major issues I still find is the price you pay for PowerPoint slides and youtube videos and the price tag you're paying especially for online lessons do not coincide with the level of education you receive. However, this is also only happening due to the pandemic and the changes in such a short span of time isn't easy for both faculty or students.
Guest speakers during online lessons have become a bit less frequent as expected, but it also creates this disconnection from students as some don't find it as easy to ask questions or speak to the speakers individually. I can't really explain any further in terms of job prospects as I'm still in my 2nd Year.
Online / In-class with exceptions
Most of it remains clean due to the severity of Covid, However this wasn't always the case as studio would be messy due to student habitation and I place that mainly on the student upkeep rather than the universities.
They dont really press on it, especially if you're a student who is finding lessons or specific modules difficult. All they really do is provide you with links or email you about student wellbeing but they could do a better job of reaching out to those students who need help, slacking or even ones that are new to the new university environment as they just expect you to have those skills as adults but we all have our bad days.
It’s been okay, got worse because of the lockdown but the people here are decent, the experience of living in London has been great but this year is not work 9k
In year 1 so nothing yet but some guest lecturers/teachers are more than happy to provide opportunities when they’re on projects
Most of my lecturers were encouraging and supportive, making sure we were still getting the education and motivated needed for a future in the industry, however 1 or 2 had absolutely unacceptable behaviour during lectures. Not sure if it’s how they are as people or if it’s the lockdown but regardless of that, I hope for everyone’s sake they get sacked
Covid made it difficult but we could still use equipment and the library.
No support from course leader and some lecturers but there are a few gems
The overall experience has been a challenging and engaging experienxe overall and has helped me to grow my skills further throught being confident and voicing my opinions on the growing world of science and how it is changing out life everyday
A great experience in learning the fundamentals of biomedical sciences
