The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

I am so happy to be here in Swansea uni studing. I have made lots of new friends & managed to complete all my course work & hand it in on time. the lecturers are always here to help with all the things you do not understand.
I am pleased with my experience and I have no regrets whatsoever. I feel confident in what I do and I enjoy. COVID has made my motivation to do work halter a lot. This has not stopped me from doing practical work and making stuff which I want to explore. I enjoy learning new skills by myself and research my into how things are done. My university experience overall has been pleasing. In accommodation I have enjoyed my freedom and doing things when I want. I would recommend this university and my course to anyone who is looking to apply.
They often have guest speakers (online due to Covid) and usually bring local artists in for workshops. There are modules dedicated to your future and how to approach what you want to do. Tutors are often helpful and everyone has advice that can help you out.
Very practical driven, small class sizes and you always have contact time with your tutor. Our tutor always asks how we are doing, we have weekly meetings to check up on our work and if we are on top of things.
Our ceramics department is often busy but I have never complained about anything breaking, workspaces are often clean and tidy for other students to use. You can easily collect equipment and use for a few weeks and bring it back. In lockdown we were allowed to bring back materials home and in the flat to try and complete work.
In accommodation, it is very much a mixed bag. They have done welfare checks on us students but I do not recall having one since April. However the on duty potters are often useful and always on hand with any situation as they are only a text away.
The university are doing everything they can do help students studying through this pandemic. Despite this, I think certain lecturers are taking on too much workload as the response time for our projects is very very slow and is affecting students learning.
Online learning has been the biggest challenge during my third year. I understand that lecturers are trying to increase the engagement with breakout rooms but it takes away the time to learn. Contact with certain tutors is challenging with my final year project as the response is very slow.
I would highly recommend the University of Wales Trinity Saint David to anyone thinking about heading to university. The university has helped support students during the pandemic to an extremely high standard and has ensured that students get the best possible learning experiences during their time at UWTSD.
My course has been delivered really well, both online and in-class, enabling us to have the best possible learning experiences. The lecturers have been really good in helping us & I am able to contact tutors when I need support
Room size is adequate & the shared spaces are safe and secure with no issues. Porters are on hand 24/7 for any urgent issues. I am able to access WiFi with no problems and IT Service Desk is available if there are any issues. Variety of contract terms available.
There are plenty of things that make the university stand out including really good library facilities, a modern looking restaurant with really good food & reliable access to rental equipment - chromebooks etc.
Amenities are close by for shopping, with bars and restaurants a short drive or bus ride away. Transport links are strong with bus stops right outside the campus and the campus is accessible.
Plenty of societies available across all campuses
I am able to access support via Student Services for any issue, including counselling, finance and more.
Brilliant. Good support and learnt a lot. Fantastic links with industry and course heavily linked to automotive industry. great lecturers who want best for all students and teach at great pace.
Fantastic guest lectures and support to contact industry in all areas. brilliant staff communication to help into work experience
Like small lectures groups maximum 30 students in a lecture so can easily speak to lecturer if not understanding the subject. Least favourite is assignments which have been hard to understand
Students union is good with a desk in the main uni building. Easy to contact and use.
Fantastic class/ study rooms and excellent experiment and workshop areas.
Fantastic location 5 minute walk to town centre and 10 minute walk from my rented house.
Good amount of societies covers all interests.
fantastic able to contact lecturers within a day and all respond right away to emails
It has been good and very interesting. nice to meet new people. the lectures are the best they teach you whatever to learn about any subject. would not choose another uni.
they have guest lectures which are good
i like that it small class room and lectures are available .
facilities are great and available to students
the are really good.
it is in the centre of Swansea, but Swansea is a small place.
The university often has enhancement sessions to aid in employability
I most enjoy the motorcycle related application of engineering principles, it fuels my passion for the subject.
They have been helpful to me
State of the art
Yes it is in very nice harbour location, the views are tranquil.
The motorsport opportunities are great for keen racers
Very small class, the contact with the teachers is my fav part of my education at UWTSD
My overall experience with my university is that it has been very challenging however there is amazing support offered and I very much enjoy the topics that I have learnt.
They are very good at increasing the employability of your person as they provide seminars for creating a cv and LinkedIn.
The thing I like most about the course is there's a lot of support if you are unsure of yourself and your ability. The thing I like the least about the course there is so much content you can learn you just have little time to do it in, nonetheless you still learn so much doing this course.
They are okay
Very good the workshop is kitted out.
Yes it's a short walk from the center of town.
Very good I was once in the ladies football team and it was a great experience.
Very very good, you cannot fault the support offered by the uni.
my experience at university has been excellent i have progressed academically as well as personally. i have also made new friends and engaged in new sporting activities
plenty of guest lectures and regular updates about upcoming applications and job opportunities for graduates and internships.
i would prefer more hands on and practical work to support the theory aspect
there isnt much
brand new campus with excellent facilities, workshops and lecture rooms.
the city is very easy to get around with plenty of bus links. the campus is based in the harbour and can be reached very easily either by walking or driving. parking is ample and there is a supermarket near by
there are a wide array of sports and societies to take part in although more support from the SU would be greatly received
very good there is always a lecturer to talk to for feedback they are very friendly and can be reached easily by email to arrange meetings
They try to make the student think for them selves. It's good because the success of the student is entirely dependent on them. The resources are plentiful to succeed.
the lectures are usually engaging but sometimes you need to dig for information on your own for course work. Good and bad for the students that don't have to work ethic needed.
Not sure about the personal but the lecturers are very available.
