The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

Mainly supportive lecturers. Ayr campus is a lovely new building with great library facilities. I chose this university because it offers unique courses compared to other Scottish universities. The accommodation is nice an spacious but isn't in my favourite area
It has been very good to study here and I have learned very much. As a mature student I have been welcomed by everybody. I have been having a very enjoyable experience.
Online with a couple of lab classes
Never used but have heard they are good
The university has been incredibly unorganised this year, they often use covid as an excuse but I don't think that is acceptable as we are still there to be taught. The online lessons have been organised well and we were lucky to get into uni once a week for a lesson. However the content of the online lessons was sometimes questionable. Although staff say they are there to support you and you can email them whenever there seems to be a passive aggressive manner that comes to any criticism or student struggling. The university failed to secure placements for all pupils, which has led to some pupils being unable to complete the course in June and have to have an extended placement. Personally I have to travel 2 hours to my placement even though when applying my university said placements would be 90 minutes travel maximum. The university support systems have been great reimbursing my travel costs and with discretionary funds.
The online lessons have been sometimes useful but there have been a lot of lessons that seem to serve no purpose and you are stuck trying to find the relevance to your practice
They seem to have good facilities on campus however I can not really comment as for covid we have not been able to use most
I feel that I have still learned a lot, but many of the assessments have been changed from practice assessments to essays or tests. I just can’t wait to be on campus because I know it will be so much better. I can’t give a proper opinion until I see what everything is like for myself
Currently all online
I have enjoyed my experience in uni and appreciated the support from lecturers and fellow classmates. It has been a great learning experience as it has helped me developed my skills as a coach and I am able to use what I have learned in the future.
We have career talks every so often and once graduated, we are able to contact the careers team for support to find a job.
Due to the pandemic it has all been online but it is usually blended.
The computers in the uni are okay, not as good as using your own laptops/computer at home due to poor Internet and lack of space. Study spaces are always full and are normally not in use when in class.
Great support given by lecturers as they are always available to talk when you need it. Right now they have online fitness classes which are highly beneficial to health and well being whilst at home doing uni work.
horrific would not recommend the uni or the course would if you need to take year out and go to another university , have ruined for me what are meant to be the best ears of my life
I have not seen any effort from the university apart from information you can find online for yourself.
the course is the most boring thing I have done it is no new information . the lecturer are non existent
Students unions average at best not heard much apart from an automated email.
facilities at the modern campus are very good and nicely designed
I stay roughly 35 miles from the uni but the location is easy to get to at off peak times
Apparently the university has great societies and sports teams but I have reached out many times to try and get involved income of these but I have never received a response and also haven't been able to join online or in the university campus
counselling is not existent swell as the support and feed back I in my 4 years of university did not once have or met hit my personal tutor- the uni states that you have to meet with the tutor at least 2 times per semester.
Science hospital placements for experience in lab
UWS open door policy is great
Tutors helpful, quick email responses
My university experience so far is very good. Coming from another university in France, I really appreciate it here. Like the cafeteria and the gym. Lectures are really interesting and nice.
I like that lecturers are available for any query.
safety condition and locations are perfect but cost of it is very important
A great library and gym
I live in Glasgow so I take the train every time I have to come to the campus
Support by tutors is usually offered and many posters in hallways to inform about support classes
Work placement. Degree accredited by RSC. Lots of practical lab sessions
So much extra help given by all lecturers, extra help and revision sessions
Excellent study areas, library and computers
Enjoying it due to independence however workload can be stressful
Could do with more hours in class to learn etc.
Great union offering free gym and cheap drinks/food
Library is well kept and designed, however some rooms are run-down
Close to train station and many options for food
Don't know enough to give fair comment
Communication is good between tutors and students
