University of Sussex is an amazing and conducive institution to study. Being an international student and the tutor are super helpful in delivering the courses, Experienced and supportive faculty, well-equipped facilities, a diverse and inclusive environment, robust academic resources, opportunities for research and extracurricular activities, effective student support services, and a positive campus culture that fosters learning and personal development.

I have an exciting experience in the university of Sussex. The family accommodation should be made much more available for the foreign student as living in Brighton and its environment is quite expensive.

As an international student, I was initially apprehensive about starting my university life in a foreign country. My primary concern was adjusting to the academic language used for assignments. However, the university's ELAS department provided me with tutorials and workshops, which were immensely helpful. I was also worried about socializing as a new student, but the university's societies were a big help. I even found a society for students from my native country studying at Sussex. Additionally, the student union held events to help us connect with each other. Once, while working on an assignment, I faced some technical issues in one of the labs. However, the technical support was quick to respond and resolve the issue. The university campus is also beautiful to walk around, and the library is well-equipped and organized, providing an ideal environment for studying.

The University of Sussex is renowned for its vibrant academic community, fostering critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration. Its picturesque campus offers a conducive learning environment. Distinguished faculty members contribute to a rich educational experience, while diverse student initiatives promote inclusivity. To improve, enhancing support systems for international students and refining career services could be beneficial. Additionally, addressing infrastructure updates and implementing innovative teaching methodologies would further elevate the overall learning atmosphere at Sussex.

THIRD YEAR

Economics BA (Hons)

University rating (3)

I think the overall feel of the university is very welcoming and feels extremely safe. The library is a great place to work and the availability of on hand help 24 hours a day is incredible. I think the students union could be improved to help the integration for students. As the university is relatively far from from the centre of Brighton I think the uni could do with more events etc.

Great Staff and good examinations. The construction around campus doesn’t help the ‘uni’ campus feel.

The best aspects is the online recordings of every lecture since it means even when I'm working or busy I never miss important learning time. The worst aspect is that the exams aren't outlined more. From the dates to the structure of the exams, we aren't as informed as we should be.

The academic level and international recognition is worth investing on it. However it is a really old university, which makes most of the classrooms and dormitories to be old and not nice to be in
