The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

I am so delighted to be there st university of Sunderland that I spend around 3 hours a day on public transport. The atmosphere is warm and productive. I spend much of my time creating and sharing ideas not just with my class mates, but with other year groups and MA students. It's amazing !
There are workshops, IT help, transferable skills instruction and work placements available for students of University of Sunderland.
I am enjoying the instruction and the ideas swapping that lead to a transparent department. Everyone is extremely supportive.
I think the union do a great job of promoting the University and keeping us up to date with issues that arise and how they are resolved
I can't really answer as i live an hour away...but Newcastle which is nearby has a very good night life.
Diverse...something for everyone
Excellent support. At Sunderland they really want you to be happy and productive.
Everything has been great. The university had done their best under the circumstances. I have learnt a lot this year and I have enjoyed it very much. I believe it was value for money as none of what has happened with the virus has been the uni's fault. They have accommodated pretty fast, offering support and guidance.
My overall experience in this university has been very pleasant. Along with developing my academic abilities I have also developed my social abilities, which I believe to be an essential part of what a university has to offer. I learned a lot about communication and working in a group on a more professional level. Moreover, the facilities of the university continuously give students the chance to expand their academic experiences with very favorable conditions.
Mostly online this year.
Very good accessibility with very clean spaces and good equipment.
I am really sad about online sessions at the University, sincerely if I knew that lessons were online due to covid, I am not sure that I would start university. I started in January 2020, and I did just 2 months with the University open.
I know that is very difficult entertain a large number of students, but often classes are not the same as face to face.
The university of Sunderland in London, is very accessible, the spaces are very furnished and organized. The library service works very well.
I never had the necessity to use them, but they are very structured, the student support is available and they send constantly emails to remind it.

Sunderland unibersity in london offer a free access to personal services, such as to loan a laptop for studying and refunds for international students who face financial issues. also it has different groups of wellbeing and always focus on disability for help and support. as well as for mental health groups to support those students effectively.
Hello everyone, I am so happy to be part of the students in the University of Sunderland, the people are so down to earth and the City of Sunderland is so environmentally friendly. My university is giving their students so many privileges, they are so helpful, you'll always see a smile on their faces anytime you come in for an assistance and that only, changes your mood!!! The experience was one of a kind!! Warm regards, Adaugo
My course is taught online, the teaching hours are very convenient, and my tutor is amazing.
The services are so welcomed the facilities are amazing, the cleanliness is breathtaking, the shared spaces and equipment hire are marvelous!!!
It's so good and helpful!!
Overall my first experience has been one of the best and hopefully I have more wonderful years to come and great memories to take back home and share with everyone It may be a small city but the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
The university helps us to build our CV’s, the job opportunities are much and the hours given are very very flexible to every student Some lecturers maybe able to provide references for students that may or will need them in the future mostly the general module leaders.
It is a very great experience learning here specially considering the fact that lockdown made a very huge impact on the way we students are now retaining informations at hand. Various forms of services are provided in this time of need and a massive focus on students wellbeing are looked at, we do not only have access to the library but online services were made for students I keep feeling homesick everyday but I am currently slowly adjusting to the change and the life of living alone in a foreign country but what makes it worthwhile is the experiences I have with my friends and knowing that I have my little sister with me as well. To be honest, at first I had some issues getting used to the online method. The university provided help in different ways, I could contact the module leader for guidance (advice). I had tutors who are always ready to assist me whenever I had any topic I found hard to understand, the teaching hours are very flexible I have enough time to get myself prepared for the lectures. The lecturers are always ready whenever to assist us on any academic issues we may have. The university gives every student a free bus pass with the use of a student card, a lot of scholarship opportunities are given to students including student loans also if ever a student is in need of one, the working hours provided to students are very flexible a student can apply to be a student ambassador which tends to be very useful on a student’s resume after university. The lecturers pre-record our classes which we receive every Friday after which we start a new week having seminars with each lecturer, the use of workshops is also one of the major way the teaching at the university we are work on some workshop preps before we have the class (virtual online classes). Usually most universities require the students to have their cameras turned on, the university always states that we have the right to turn our cameras on or not as they are trying to help protect our data. I can’t stress much about the wonderful quality of the university, I believe it is better to experience and see the mindset of what I have written so far.
The university has wonderful facilities, so far I have only been able to access the library and city space at the city campus (due to the lockdown majority of the facilities are closed as everything works online) But even without access to them from my perspective I can testify that they are top notch facilities for students, every location is clean and the university is very serious on hygiene no place is left dirty or unhealthy for the environment
Well the student support at the university is very wonderful, I have never used the wellbeing, disability or mental health support services but I have seen/read about students that have used the services and they have also requested it to students in time of need

Although most classes are online, the lecturers do help to ensure that students are well caught up with the content.
My first year has been fantastic, my second year will hopefully have more face to face but the dedication shown by the lecturers has been superbe. The facilities are fantastic as well as the support from not only the tutors, fellow students but also the librarians and the tutors that are not connected to my course are always available and will always help if needed.
My tutors give me information on jobs that may help with my studies
The course has been fully online, the lectures have remained fully dedicated and have worked hard to hold a positive first year.
The facilities are kept clean, there are alot.
I receive fantastic support from the university
Fantastic University with lots of support for students with great facilities that are constantly evolving, situated in a major northern city with brilliant transport links. The course offered lots of interesting paths to follow and the built in professional practice makes employability a major part of the course
