Everyone is friendly and studying materials are sufficient for everyone. So either you want to just have fun or study, or both, here is the right place to do it! If you are international student don't forget to never stay alone! There are a lot of international students like you who wait there for a new friend
It is an unique experience. I like the fact that we do a lot of practical work at school . You just have to be brave enough to apply, then enjoy the student amazing life! Go to Sunderland
Enjoying Uni so far. Forget about freedom when coming at university. Don't be lazy when coming here : you will need a lot of self motivation to pass through all the stress. In rest, keep smiling and don't forget that everywhere you go is the same: you have to study hard.
I'm enjoying uni a lot. I study Psychology with Counselling and live in a home. The City life is ok and the uni facilities are great. I would love to advice other people to choose Sunderland as it is a lot cheaper than any other cities around UK and the Uni is amazing
The University has a wide range of great facilities and academic support. LLB LAW in Sunderland University isn't a course I would suggest to anyone. This course isn't that organised as I thought. For the rest, just come and see by yourself
Enjoying uni life so far. Facilities are excellent , staff are really polite and helpful. The nightlife is also excellent. My advice to new students would be to start assignments early and also revise for exams
I would describe my university experience as a very good one and I would like to recommend this course to other students because of the jobs good prospect and lectures involvement. GREAT UNI!!!
good crack, drinks are cheap nights are messy :) only place you can go out on a tenner and get 20 jagerbombs. University is not the most organised and the halls are not the greatest. But forgetting this i think Sunderland is a great placce to go good banter etc.
University of Sunderland is certainly impressive, with their fantastic staff, academic courses and the use of facilities. I applause this University for the warm reception to the freshers and reassuring them that they always here to help with ANYTHING, even if it is a silly question or two. My Criminology course, in particular, has been brilliant in the past seven weeks. It was overwhelming at the start, but you will adapt quickly because the academic lecturers are ready to help and guide you through subjects you are not sure about. It is normal to come out of lectures thinking 'I haven't got a clue what the lecture was about', that's what the seminars is for! Also, the use of facilities are great. 24 hour Murray library access on the books and computers next to the city campus. Most of the campus is a short walk from town. The buildings are placed in short distance from each other, which is great. Accommodation doesn't apply to me, but I've heard that most of the students are satisfied with their living standards.
Bus service is always full so you have to be on the ball. The IT Suite it kitted out with high end machines with professional programs and they offer good things to you. The speed of the internet in the accommodation is fast, double what I had at home.Occasional spikes of traffic on the net though.
University was definitely a good choice in life. However, with most things, there are downfall's. The University itself is very good in terms of facilities and location. The teaching method's however are unbalanced. Unfortunately most of the teachers who you would never believe would be teaching at industry standard. The ones that are good are amazing at their jobs and they provide help, support and are generally great at doing what they do. University is very mixed. The nightlife is moderate and could do with different kinds of places/events going on instead of trying to compress students into one big clone. Complete sell-outs that are afraid to try something new.The whole University experience is a rollercoaster of ups and downs. But it was a good opportunity in life to truly question what you want to do after you graduate.
My university is amazing, the lecturers are all very friendly and helpful and whenever I have had a problem I've been able to speak to them very quickly. The university itself is fantastic and always has something going on and has a fantastic support group including careers staff, financial assistance etc. The town itself has everything you need and is very cheap on a student night out so you get both the highs and lows of student life. All in all its a fantastic university and town to live in and is very cheap!

Adapt to the environment especially the weather and be independent. These two pieces of advice are great as I didn't know how the weather will be like before coming so I had to buy new clothes. Uni is fun. But you have to pay everything on your own, the bills... so be prepared
