Facilities
(4)
How good are your university's facilities?
There are plenty of facilities to study in at UCS; I was very impressed. There's a big library with windows and mac computers, a silent study area, a group study area, presentation 'pods' with large computer screens to practice solo and group presentations, there's computers on almost every floor of the Waterfront building to use.
There is also a good cafe open to the public but with student prices, a campus shop (but this is expensive) vending machines, a cash machine, a cheap car park for £2 all-day student parking.
The only improvements that could be made are extending the library open times as it is not a 24/7 library, lowering the shop prices, and the student car park gets full very quickly so if your lectures start at 11am, your probably won't get a space.
Student support

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

Students' union
(4)
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
The Student Union is active and organises lots of events and activities.
Local life
(1)
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Ipswich town centre is a dump. It has a variety of outlets from Primark to Costa, but I honestly won't return there after my first time.
Societies and Sports
(1)
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
There are lots of clubs and societies but these often run at inconvenient times s I can't attend. For example, I wanted to join badminton or tennis, but these start at 6pm when all my lectures finish no later than 1pm. As I live 30 miles away from campus, there's no chance I can wait around for 5 hours to attend the club. It's a bit annoying that these times are so late, especially as most of the students are mature and don't live on campus, have jobs, have children, etc.
Lecturers and teaching quality
(4)
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
The majority of my lecturers are brilliant, but I (and the rest of my class) found some major problems with one of ours. He was awful at communication, organisation and even turning up to class. However, the rest of my lecturers are thoroughly hard-working and I know they have our best interests at heart.
Career prospects
(5)
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Too soon to say as I am only in year 1.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
I cannot comment as I live off-campus.
