As an international student, it's been great to come to a different country and study at a university where you can experience such a different culture. The course itself is stretching and support is rare but all in all, I do enjoy the course. The only downside for us were that there were no other scholarships or bursaries that we could apply for.
University has been a very good experience. From what I can remember, the selection process was very easy, and there was a very quick turn around. The other perks for Southampton is that as a Russell group univeristy, it has many industry links, so as an Engineering student, this means that when I graduate, the job prospects are quite high and I should be able to attain a job.
There are many groups that you can be a part of here in southampton; from academic ones to people with similar interests or cultures which is great. The university facilities are second to none here too, boasting some of the best facilities in the country. The bus key card and frequent buses this year have also proved very helpful.
University has been enjoyable so far with a number of different things to do. These range from course related stuff, to just going to the town centre or playing sports. The university experience really has it all. I do feel that the university do lack funding for scholarships and bursaries for our course though which I think they should try to bring in.
There are really great opportunities at the uni, on top of the course. The social side and the nightlife is quite good and its a cheap night out. Not like London. Courses are interesting. The career services for engineers is very good. The reputation in general for our program is great. Emails get mailed straight out to students if there are any opportunities for engineers. They will help you improve your CV.
To start with, I found out that I was twinned, as part of Southampton's way of trying to accommodate everyone that needed halls but although it wasn't great, I got along with my twin. Also, if you were twinned, you didn't pay any rent for the duration which was good but I was there for a long time. The application itself was simple, there was no interview and I got an offer quickly. There's also a good module selection and a range of choice of optional modules
Entered as nature ages student. I feel like ive been mugged. I came to learn not to buy a meaningless qualification. if you want understanding and knowledge I would suggest you do not come here

The nightlife here is very enjoyable and I like the aeronautics specific related aspects to my course. Perhaps the only thing that could be improved is the involvement of some lecturers and making some lectures more interesting. Also the student union could provide more conveniences for students and cheaper food.
