Overall the whole area is great, location is fantastic, facilities are phenomenal, only room for improvement is communication between lecturers during projects
Best aspects of my uni experience: Studying at the University of South Wales, Treforest campus has given me the opportunity to experience a supportive learning environment. The campus facilities and learning resources have helped me improve my academic skills. Interacting with students from different backgrounds has improved my communication and confidence. The location of the Treforest campus is also convenient for managing both studies and part-time work. Worst aspects of my uni experience: The most difficult aspect has been adjusting to the academic structure and maintaining consistent attendance while managing personal and external responsibilities. During this period, I faced challenges that affected my engagement. However, this experience helped me understand the importance of time management, regular attendance, and seeking guidance from staff when needed.
The Univerasity of South Wales, is located well, easy to get to and locate. Parking isnt always possible so i would reccomend getting bus or train or even car share on your lecture days. The Glyntaff campus is worn and old, the female toilets are often dirty and left without toilet roll and female sanitary products. The zone on Glyntaff campus is very expensive especially for students. Staff are all really approachable and genuinley helpful, as are the library staff. The library is full of useful resources and text books, also plenty of space to study. There is a lack of microwaves for students and often are out of service which students who have brought in their own food cant heat up. All in All for me as a student i enjoy studying at the Glyntaff campus.

I am really enjoying my time at USW, my course is fun engaging and developed my knowledge . The communication within the university needs to be improved.
Well, my university has strong links with industries which is very helpful for me because as my course is Business and management thats why it will help me far away, Tutors are very supportive as well as professional and the enviorment of this institute is very welcoming as I'm an international student, I felt very comfortable. In my opinion, what i expected,its much more than that.
Work/life balance is good. Manageable amount of work load when you are also working full time.

Best aspects: The best part of my university experience has been the supportive learning environment and the strong focus on practical, real-world skills. The teaching staff are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in students’ success, particularly in supporting us during placements. I have found the course well structured, with opportunities to develop confidence, critical thinking, and professional values. Access to learning resources, skills labs, and placement opportunities has made it a great place to study and prepare for my future career. Worst aspects / areas for improvement: One of the more challenging aspects has been the workload and pressure during peak assessment periods, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. Communication around timetables, placement information, and assessment deadlines could also be clearer and more consistent. Improving organisation and providing earlier notice for key dates would help students plan better and reduce stress. Additional wellbeing and academic support during busy periods would further enhance the student experience.
Teacher's are very friendly. They are very supportive. The university has very high facilities. But the transportation is bit hard. The main campus is in treforest. Many student love in Cardiff or far. So, it is not located in a urban area and face problems for transport

Honestly the student wellbeing team is fantastic with fun activities and experiences to make student life so much more fun. Classes and lecturers are fabulous and make classes interactive. The Hub is also available as a location to relax and play games with your friends. The university also provides excellent mental health support teams to ensure students are at the best they can be.
Focusing on active recall has transformed my study sessions. If platforms could combine these effective tools with lower entry costs, it would truly democratise education for everyone.
The people here and the good lectures make it a good place to study more to do in the day time would be good

There are a diverse range of courses available, and the engineering lecturers are really friendly and helpful. There is a new engineering block being built which will improve campus feel and lectures. The students union is quite active. There library has a lot of great resources. There could be better sports facilities and more team sports. The uni being split into different campuses doesnt help as the sports campus is a few miles from the main campus. Some of the buildings are dated and could be refreshed. There could be more lectures and teaching on engineering courses as these are only 2 days/ 3 classes a week. This seems to be because there are a lot of part-time and apprentice students so the schedule has been arranged to accommodate them.
The university has a welcoming atmosphere and a campus that feels comfortable and easy to navigate. Facilities are generally well maintained, and there are plenty of study spaces that make it easy to work independently or in groups. The location is convenient, with good transport links and access to shops, cafés and other essentials. Student support can sometimes be slow, particularly during peak academic periods. The Students’ Union could offer a wider variety of events and make communication about upcoming activities clearer.
The location of the campus is in a really unique place, it gives out a very different style from other university because its in quiet place and surrounded by nature. also the support from the teachers is incredible always welcoming and encouraging students to take part in activates and get out of the comfort zone.
I am slightly biased, as I don't like partying and I am afraid of heights. That being said, it is annoying to go up to the top floor almost every day I'm in for my sessions, and (though not the uni's fault) Newport isn't exactly great for students to live in from what I can tell. There's stuff here, but compared to the likes of Cardiff and Swansea, it's night and day. That set up just hurts the locals who have to deal with a university-based city. Meanwhile, the stuff the uni provides (guidance, teaching, opportunities, etc.) is generally top-notch and very helpful and useful. It's just the setup and city that hurt it. I do get why it's on the top floor (harder to reach, easier to keep stuff safe, better for managing devices), but I still hate having to go up a 5-storey building for it.
