Documentary Photography - BA (Hons)

University rating (4)

There is great support for students and facilities, especially for photography. I have been able to create high-quality prints and experiment with various cameras and lighting. As well as knowing that my lecturers are there to support me. The building is situated well in the centre of Cardiff, with it being very accessible to various student accommodations, shops, places to go out and transport links. However, the student union could host more events to bring students together even more.

Business and Management - BA (Hons)

University rating (4)

1. Supportive Staff: Teachers and staff are helpful and easy to approach. 2. Good Facilities: The campus has modern classrooms, study spaces, and libraries. 3. Active Student Life: There are lots of clubs, societies, and activities to join. 4. Great Location: It’s close to nature and just a short trip to Cardiff. Worst Aspects: 1. Transport: The campus isn’t always easy to get to, especially if you don’t live nearby. 2. Old Buildings: Some parts of the campus are a bit outdated. 3. Quiet Area: There isn’t much nightlife or things to do in Treforest itself. Improvements: • Better Transport: More buses or shuttles to make it easier to get to campus. • Upgraded Buildings: Fixing up the older buildings for a better learning experience. • More Local Social Spots: Adding more cafes or hangout spots around campus.

MA SEN/ALN (Additional Learning Needs)

University rating (5)

I am enjoying my MA course at USW. I find the course content very engaging. I have struggled with getting to campus due to disabilities. However, great support available, course leaders are helpful, engaging and knowledgeable and very supportive. They also take on board student concerns, making adjustments if they can to accommodate. So far it’s been great. I would recommend to any prospective student.

MSc Professional Accounting (with ACCA tuition)

University rating (4)

I would suggest for the teams in the university should be more connected and link to each other. For example, I’ve been through some issue with my attendance and schedules which causes me to use more than 3 months to solve the issues and I had to contacted different person in charge while repeating my situations for a few times. I would say the facilities and the environment of the university is very chill and advanced where it really can motivate students to study in the designated areas.

Documentary Photography - BA (Hons)

My uni experience so far has been great. The support I get from my lectures is a main aspect for this. Whether I go to them for help about my work or my life they are always there to help me. I found I settled in great into the course during first year, I got along great with everyone in my class and the course as a whole. My uni experience started by being thrown into a project called dominoes and dice, I was put into a group of students form each year and spent three days photographing around Cardiff. This helped me a lot with my confidence on the course, making friends and learning my whereabouts in a new city. I personally haven't found myself having any bad experiences in uni, there has been times where things have been frustrating about my work but support has always been there to help me get through this.

I hope the university may give more support to Chinese students and the model of the course should be changed for spring semester
