Sheffield Uni has great social and academic aspects. I really enjoy my music course in my second year which is particularly well taught and lots of resources to help and advance my studies.
In general I think the uni is great and so is the city. I have no problems with one of my departments but some of my other department lecturers aren't as grasping as I would prefer, hence the lower score. Other than that I am content with everything :-)
I thoroughly enjoy uni and I'm glad I chose sheffield. Its right in the middle of the city and there is always something to do, like volunteering, club nights or shopping. Because Sheffield has a massive student population, due to the fact it includes Sheffield Hallam university as well, it has a really studenty feel is one of the safest large cities. It's not far from Leeds either, so if you want an even bigger city it doesn't take long!
Awesome university - high quality research driven study, with the most up-to-date developments actually part of our course. Facilities available - leisure, student support, and accommodation are second to none!
Sheffield University is a fantastic large University in a good city. While being large it isn't intimidating and there's lots to see and do whatever you're interested in.
Accepting a place at the University of Sheffield was the best decision I made - my course is informative and interesting, the lecturers available to help and the overall feel of the university is so friendly. The student union itself is massive - there's always something going on in it, whether it be charity fundraising, small concerts or huge clubnights. The city itself is large enough to provide everything you want without it feeling intimidating, and the majority of university accommodation is lush!
The University of Sheffield is a great place to study. First year accommodation is modern but homely, and the university is good at helping you find accommodation for 2nd and 3rd years. The course is great, with interesting modules, great lecturers and good facilities. sheffield is also a really welcoming city.
