They provide recorded lectures and the lecture slides for us to watch and download, although they don’t always upload these within an acceptable amount of time, if not forgetting to do so at all

I got the room I asked for, a quiet en-suite one, however the rooms and kitchen and constantly infested with spiders and other creatures. The fire alarm also goes off at random times for a few seconds before stopping, which implies it is not a drill or emergency but some sort of issue with the alarm system. Finally there have been constant issues with the heating and the water. One instance that comes to mind is that my shower would refuse to produce hot water for about 3 days straight.

The opportunity to access modules in history, museum studies, and languages has been highly rewarding. However, disappointingly sometimes these have been more enjoyable than the modules provided in my home school. in the 2nd and 3rd year of my studies the modules repeat meaning we have a very limited choice of study in the school of art. Whilst these modules are well led it often feels like their is more we could be learning. The main improvements I would like to see at the university is a restructuring of the Art teaching. currently each year we have one main studio module, worth between 40-80 credits depending on your course, in which we are asked to develop out own practices. In this module we have 1 seminar a week + 3 hour set studio sessions which are largely unmonitored by staff. We have the opportunity to sign up to various skill sessions to learn new processes but they are often more thematic or a one of technique session which can feel limiting. I would particularly enjoy if more technical modules weighted at around 10 credits were implemented in the art teaching. As a painter I feel I would have greatly benefited from a module dedicated to the building and stretching of canvases, exploration of different paint types and how they can be used, approaches to underpainting etc. as I feel many of those skills I have self-taught in my time here. I've utilised painting as an example but their is an equal lack of technical modules in sculpture, performance, Video, Sound and drawing. Whilst their are 2 drawing modules (drawing skills and expanded drawing) these are both first year modules making them inaccessible to some joint students who have mandatory modules in their other subject.

These halls are off campus and quite old meaning they feel a little dated. Their was also a lack of socialising

I have not met a lecturer who I thought wasn’t doing the most for their students. I do believe, however, that blackboard can be confusing to use and not very efficient

This year in my stenton townhouse we have had consistent cold water and broken radiators.

Some lessons are very interesting and enjoyable But some lessons can be a very boring and feels like you can’t get a lot of information from the overall lecture the way it is taught

It’s nice and good the fact that it is in campus but sharing a kitchen is way worse than I could have every imagined. Nobody cleans after themselves and they don’t respect personal comfort e.g screaming at 3am in the corridors

A very good blend of online and in person classes and the schedule is spread out and good. Students on the placement year for psychology should be placed by the university itself in work places instead of having students do it completely on their own. However lots of support is provided by the Careers counsel with regards to this.

A really nice area as it’s not far from main campus and other buildings. Amazing view and comfortable room- makes you feel at home. Utilities could be improved such as the kitchen stove and sink. Internet is often slow at times.

Need to be more study spaces within the course buildings

Glide aren't very useful. Still have an ongoing ticket from 6months ago, limiting my ability to connect to to the internet

The content is intriguing, though not all processes or formulas are given to us. Once tried at home, there is no simple way of knowing if you're right; reaching out to the lecturer results in you still not receiving the yer or no directly to your findings.

Location is ideal; 5 minute walk to campus. Multiple issues with door locks have occurred this year, and as with university accommodation in general; it's overpriced.

Right on campus writhing 5-10 min walk of most lecturers. WiFi not always working.

The best is when the lecturers are great, but there are a couple that don’t provide enough clarity on assignments.

I really enjoy the course but maybe we could have more opportunities for internships. Also I would really like for us to have educational trips to other cities/countries

Windsor Hall was not good for me. You can barely get sleep there. Always too loud, people screaming at 3-4 am everyday outside. When you look out the window you see people throwing up into bushes. The heating was horrible, so cold in the winter had to buy a temporary heater. The only good thing is the location
